We applaud our government for doubling paternity leave from 1 to 2 weeks. While it is our hope that more and more companies will give dads the extra time for family, here are 3 simple things you can do with your kids today!
OREO BALLS (Avoid large portions unless you want a hyperactive kid)
- 12 Oreo cookies
- ¼ cup milk
- 8 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
Crush Oreos and mix them with milk. Add the peanut butter and honey and roll the mixture into balls. Refrigerate them for at least 30minutes before consumption. For extra pretty desserts: roll the balls in melted chocolate and sprinkle crumbs before serving.
2. Teach them to be a spy
THE INVISIBLE INK (Get them to write a sweet message for mom)
- Half a lemon
- Cotton bud
- White paper
Squeeze some lemon juice and add a few drops of water, mix it properly. Dip the cotton bud into the mixture and write your message on the white paper. Wait for the juice to dry. Heat the paper by holding it close to a light bulb and voila!
3. Teach them to count and be active
- Ice cream sticks
- Number cutouts: 1-9
Use the ice cream sticks to form the hopscotch grid. Number the boxes 1-9. Fill balloons with beans to throw!
